The Center for Neuromuscular Horse Dentistry provides the most comprehensive and professional training program available for anyone interested in learning and practicing neuromuscular dentistry. Our goal is to produce well-rounded, highly-trained equine practitioners.
The curriculum covers all aspects of neuromuscular dentistry and the horse dentistry industry.
As a student, you will be exposed to the following:
There are no prerequisites to register for the program, but previous equine experience is highly recommended, as is an open mind.
Sessions are held in two-week increments, twice a year. Classes are held from 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, with night classes of 2-3 hours.
Class sizes are kept small to encourage a more productive learning environment. The unique course design includes theoretical study, distance study, practical instruction, practical exams and on-going research.
There are seven levels of certification students must achieve to become a neuromuscular horse dentist. In addition to theoretical and practical on-site instruction appropriate for each level, students are also expected to complete a minimum number of solo neuromuscular dental balances on off-site horses to qualify for each level of certification.
Due to the ever-changing advancements in the practice of this form of horse dentistry, continuing education is required every two years to keep our certified practitioners updated on current and emerging data, research findings, and continuing curriculum development.
