Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites to register for the program, but it would be very helpful if you have a love of horses and some previous interaction with horses.

Classes

Sessions are held in 5 day increments, with a two day break in between, twice a year. Classes are held from 9am to 6pm, with night classes of 1-2 hours.

Class sizes are kept small to encourage a more productive learning environment. The unique course design includes theoretical study, distance study, practical instruction, practical exams and on-going research.

Certification

There are 3 brackets of classes that students must achieve, as well as the certification class, to become a neuromuscular horse dentist. In addition to theoretical and practical on-site instruction appropriate for each bracket, students are also expected to complete a minimum number of solo neuromuscular dental balances on off-site horses to qualify for each bracket towards certification.

Dental Summit-Certified Practitioners

Due to the ever-changing advancements in the practice of this form of horse dentistry, attending a Dental Summit for continuing education is required every two years to keep our certified practitioners updated on current and emerging data, research findings, and continuing curriculum development.
